Auric Solar is launching its first Buy Solar. Give Solar. project with the YWCA in Salt Lake City. For every 100 kilowatts installed, Auric will donate 1 kilowatt toward a free solar system for the YWCA. When Auric has installed 5,775 kilowatts, we will donate a system to the YWCA.
The Huntsman Building at the YWCA’s downtown location has enough roof space to accommodate 57kW solar array. To stretch the YWCA’s resources to help more women, Auric Solar is leading a project to eliminate the power bill for the organization by donating and installing an industry leading solar system that is expected to produce energy for decades. Such efforts will save the YWCA an estimated $99,000 over the next 25 years.
The YWCA is Utah’s oldest, largest and most comprehensive provider of shelter, transitional housing, education and support services for women and children who have experienced domestic violence. The YWCA’s programs address basic needs for safety, shelter, food and clothing, as well as transitional training and assistance as people leave its facilities.
